Don’t these dolls just look absolutely creepy! Catherine Leutenegger found these polymer dolls online through a Swiss distributor and photographed them for a recent exhibition in Geneva. Leutteneger was not out to show us just how realistic these dolls look, but wants to make the watcher think about something deeper.

“We are living in a time when parents are on the point of being able to pick the sex of their children and even determine the hair coloring and other features. It raises questions about where the limits are”.

. Though the polymer and cardboard boxes that make for the visuals deal with manufacturing products, the deeper message is found in the idea of manufacturing human life – picking and choosing what one will actually birth. Maybe one day…
