Cool Collector # Style Files

You have people that just like sneakers and you have sneakerfreakers! If you belong in the second group and are a true sneakerfreaker you should really visit this new initiative by Footlocker. Their new platform 'It's a sneaker thing' offers passionate sneakerfreakers a place to share their affection and love for sneakers.

And love for sneakers there is! Inspired by Footlockers sneaker movement, sneakerfreakers from all over the world posted some extraordinary things! Like a German couple who had a sneakerwedding. A project by Jesse who got inspired by Back to the future and made electronic powerlaces and I really liked the post about the launch of sneaker museum in Germany.

Besides Sneaker news there is also a lot information that is just fun, like a peak inside the Office of Nike CEO Mark Parker. His office is a colorful and creative chaos and really fun to see! But you can also find posts of old videoclips and very retro artist with very retro sneakers!

There are also some entries of amazing street-art projects. Like Adam Smith who became unwittingly the catalyst for the sneaker movement. Adam is a complete sneakerfreaker and not only owns a huge sneakercollection but also his work is inspired by sneakers like his Neon Sneaker street-art. I also really loved the contribution by Nico about Lace who turns city-chairs into sneakers by wrapping the chairs in extremely big laces, so the chairs look like sneakers (see picture and movie above). You can check out Nico Roux's Flickr stream to see more pictures about their amazing street projects.

The site is not only about extreme passionate sneakerfreakers, you can also find some interesting articles that are inivative. Like the article of Claire Michalewicz who writes about green, eco-friendly sneakers.

Now, I'm not what you call a sneakerfreaker, but I know some people who create some really cool sneaker projects who could easily showcase their work on this platform! So if you are a creative sneakerfreaker with creative ideas you can join the sneaker movement here.http://www.footlocker.eu/itsasneakerthing/# To stay up to date and see the extraordinary stunts of these sneakerfreakers, you can join the facebookpage here!
