Personally I'm a big fan of the tv-series of Dexter, my favourite serial killer!
For any of you who aren’t familiar with the show, Dexter is about a serial killer of the same name, who works by day as a forensic analyst for the Miami police department, and by night, cleaning the city of the evil criminals who slip through the cracks of our faulty judicial system. Every serial killer has to keep his mementos and Dexter’s trophy case, consists of a box of slides, each containing one drop of blood from each victim.
The slides on the picture look like the slides from Dexters victimcollection, but these ones are actually candy! Go to this site, and find out how you can make your own deadly candy! I believe this is another perfect example of the upcomming trend 'fantasy food'.

Just spotted the new work of Fransesco de Molfetta, Lourdes Vuitton, a Louis Vuitton inspired Maria sculpture. Off course this took my interest and I started to look for his former work. His former work is also really cool, sculptures of highly overweight Barbie’s , Barack Obama as a sort of superrobot and a lot of other pop-inspired work. Too bad he hasn't a easy to find website and the information written about him is mostly Italian. Anyhow just google his name and enjoy the images! source

I really love these items made by artist Lauren Vanessa Tickle. Driven by the human need to expose what we can afford by wearing designer bags and jewelry with big logo patterns and symbolism of luxury. On her website she says the following about her project ‘exploring value’:
Does how much we look like we spend affect how we are treated? I feel jealousy stir inside as I watch a woman walk past me, Gucci in clutch. I’m not envious of the bag but of the life I think she has. What determines the wealth of a life? Why do we want to broadcast our worth? My work is an opportunity to explore this subconscious.
I too am materialistic. I must perform a metamorphosis on materials to discover their hidden meanings and strip them of their iconic and contextual values. Dissecting currency leaves the essentials – chipboard, decorative paper and an altered graphic design - a far cry from added economic value.
Daily interactions are sources for my reflection and reaction. What makes you question your assumptions?

I’ve seen a lot of Madonna inspired editorials lately, some of them get it totally wrong. This editorial worked out amazing, if you copy do it right and the styles really look like the ‘like-a-virgin-periode’of Madonna. Madonna’s styleperiod I personally like the most of all her million styleperiods. Some of the styles have more comparisons with the 'Who's that Girl', 'you can dance' and 'True Blue' period but they look pretty cool too! The stylist even found the Boy Toy belt. Well done! In his case this might be pretty cool. But I wonder how people with other professions can work with this concept. Like that poor people in Japanese factories who turn screws in i-pads every day.
